  1. README for Non-SGI Users 
  2.  
  3. Instructions: 
  4.  
  5. Open up your browser of choice and point it to the index.html file in this 
  6. directory. (for Netscape: File --> Open File in Browser) 
  7.  
  8. Important Notes: 
  9.  
  10. All the demonstration software included on Hot Mix is intended to be run on the Silicon Graphics platform and therefore will NOT install on systems other 
  11. than Silicon Graphics. 
  12.  
  13. You should have both Java and JavaScript enabled.
  14. You can turn your Java and JavaScript on and off in Netscape from the 
  15. Options --> Network Preferences --> Languages menu.
  16.  
  17. If, for some reason, you do not have a browser that supports Java or JavaScript 
  18. point your browser at:

  20.     ../html/hotmix/v_all.html
  21.

  23. If you do not have a frames-capable browser, the functionality of the CD will 
  24. be limited. Alternatively, you can visit Hot Mix on the Web at 
  25. http://www.sgi.com/Products/HotMix.

  27. Hot Mix 18 utilizes a 900x800 pixel area, for the best results set your 
  28. monitor for at least a 1024 x 768 display resolution. 
  29.  
  30. If at any time you experience a loss of controls or an image breaks it may be 
  31. necessary to reload that page. Please hold you shift key down and click 
  32. on the reload button.

  34. Important notes for Mac Users: 
  35.  
  36. When the CD is mounted for the first time it may come up with an error 
  37. message. Click OK; This can be safely ignored. The system will then 
  38. automatically start to rebuild the desktop on the CD. This happens only 
  39. once. You can safely ignore and stop this process.
